Join Us for a Six-Day Teal Family Retreat!
Come and live with your loved ones in the lap of nature, along with other families and children who come together in the spirit of community and learn to create 'Teal families', which are collaborative, transparent, and evolutionary.
This retreat offers a unique opportunity to pause from the hustle of daily life, slow down, reflect, and deepen connections with your partner, children, and parents along with a community of like minded people who are exploring alternative ways of living.
The retreat is a community experience where like-minded individuals and conscious families who could be Unschoolers, alternate healing practitioners, organic farmers, eco builders and many more live together for these six days while sharing their unique wisdom while inspiring each other to move towards a more beautiful and collaborative world.
It is an opportunity to learn valuable skills from Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and tools for collaborative and consent-based decision-making.
You will also discover ways to organize your home and kitchen to reduce overwhelm, foster creativity, and build stronger family bonds. Learn to prepare nourishing, exciting meals without stress or burnout.
Facilitators like Shammi, Urmila Samson, Ramanusha, Lyla, and Niom Samson will guide you while encouraging contributions from everyone to co-create a rich learning space.
Combining NVC with Holacracy principles, the program blends structural and personal growth. Holacracy offers tools for creating transparent, efficient systems in daily family life, while NVC fosters authentic, compassionate interactions. Together, these approaches enable long-lasting changes in family collaboration and communication.
Enjoy a vacation like energy with mix of learning, fun, and play as we build connections, share knowledge, and inspire one another in a supportive, joyful environment.
Leave with practical tools to continue this journey at home and enrich your family life.

To create a world where everyone can experience authentic and compassionate intimate relationships and be in their own power as they strengthen the bonds with their partner.
Inspired by Marshall B. Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication (NVC), my mission is to support people connect deeply by honouring each other’s needs and fostering a joyful exchange of giving and receiving with their deal ones and families. I believe that a conscious relationship not only helps us grow, but it also becomes a space where we heal ourselves and also support our partner in their healing journey.
I also founded Ahimsagram about 8 years ago, where I invited people to live together, make decisions collaboratively, and create a laboratory for living with Nonviolent Communication(NVC) and collaborative decision-making systems like Sociocracy and Holacracy.
My experience in building this unique community has provided valuable insights and skills for helping individuals and couples create stronger, more compassionate connections in their own lives.
My Story
I got asthma after going through a difficult divorce and dealing with health problems from a hectic life in Mumbai. I was told that "this will be part of your life." I refused to accept this I moved out of Mumbai and made my base in Jaipur in order to choose a slower life and take charge of my health. Integrating yoga, movement and diet I began a self-healing journey, which helped me to stop using my inhaler and move closer to life of wellness.
Along the way, I also discovered a connection between my asthma, an autoimmune disease, and my inability to completely express myself while living with unprocessed emotions. This led me to delve deeper into Nonviolent Communication (NVC), which gave me a way to completely express myself while maintaining empathy for other people.
Inspired by various thinkers and my own experiences with interpersonal relationships, community building and sustainable living practices, I began to focus on holistic approaches and advocate for effective collaboration in all forms, including relationships and families.
I think that relationships are always a work in progress, and conscious relationships can create a space to be authentic and compassionate with each other in ways that help both people grow and nurture the families. I have over ten years of experience coaching individuals and couples, as well as conducting numerous workshops on Nonviolent Communication(NVC) in India and abroad. I am now based in Jaipur and work locally as well as globally through online platforms.

"Shammi is super flexible and creative. He can switch direction very capably taking the workshop where the participants need to go - dealing moment to moment with what is live right then and there, be it children messing up the neatly laid cards in the center, or a participant triggered."
Monica Mehta, Pune
Shammi listened deeply to everyone, did not hurry, and valued everyone. He was vulnerable in his own sharing and created a safe space for everyone to speak freely & share without fear. The learning was intertwined with experiences from our own lives; therefore, the learning was personal, and listening to other people's experiences broadened my own learning. It was a fabulous experience. I understood my own experiences from such a different perspective, & it helped me move from unacceptance of myself to understanding myself & others better.

Shammi created a safe and open space from the start for participants to open up and express. It Was flowing and seamless. I would suggest that a person should experience Shammi personally, he very clearly and methodically states his approach and still doesn't make it look technical. His listening skills are at another level, and can truly listen to the heart (need) behind the words. Thanks Shammi

"I would credit like 90 percent of my parenting to NVC. I use those visibles on a day to day basis. I keep correcting myself and reflecting on things, going differently. And you giving me that foundation has been a really important part."
Educator, Uday Waldorf, Jaipur
"We didn't feel judged, there was noone telling us who is right or wrong or what point had more weightage rather helped us just get deeper into where the triggers are coming from and helped us listen to each other's perspective in an open empathetic way."
Edenhope Nature Preserve, Vanuatu
"The most helpful element of Shammi's guidance was his willingness to share his own struggles to support us in ours. He showed us that he was part of our story through his willingness to empathize with us, and yet he was always helping us to find humor and laughter in the process of self-exploration."
